Dr. Erin Maruscak graduated with distinction from the University of Waterloo Optometry School in 2002. She completed an externship in Ocular Diseases and Therapeutics in Florida. Prior to optometry school she was the gold medalist in the Honours Physiology program at Western University. Dr. Maruscak has volunteered abroad with Eye Care International to provide care and donated glasses to those in need. Although not fluent, she is now able to examine patients in Spanish through these eye care missions.
In 2012, Dr. Maruscak founded West London Optometry. The statement
“Because your eyes are worth it” represents their commitment to provide excellent eyecare and offer fashion forward eyewear.
Dr. Maruscak is passionate about family, music and travel. She loves spending time with her husband and three boys.
Dr. Jacquelyn Fleming graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2009 with both her Doctor of Optometry and Bachelor of Science degrees. She graduated on the Dean’s Honours List and received an award for academic excellence in ocular pharmacology. She also completed an externship in ocular disease and therapeutics in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Dr. Fleming has been working in private practice since she graduated and joined West London Optometry in 2017. She practices full scope optometry and her professional interests include contact lens fitting and ocular surface disease. She is a member in good standing of the Ontario Association of Optometrists.
Outside of work, Dr. Fleming enjoys playing golf and tennis, reading, and spending time with her family.
Dr. Rachel Hurst graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 2013 on the Dean’s Honour List, after earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Calvin College. Dr. Hurst was born and raised in Peterborough and moved to the London area following graduation where she has been in private practice. West London Optometry welcomes Dr. Hurst to our practice, joining our office as of September 2019. She is accepting all new and returning patients.
Dr. Hurst enjoys spending time with her husband, Dan and their three children. She enjoys travelling, playing sports and spending time outdoors.
Dr. Paula Brokenshire graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 2008 on the Dean’s Honour List, and also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Western Ontario. She completed an externship in ocular disease and therapeutics in Birmingham, Alabama. Following graduation, Dr. Brokenshire underwent extensive training in refractive laser eye surgery during her time working at TLC Laser Eye Centers.
Dr. Brokenshire has worked in private practice in West London since 2008. She practices full scope optometry and her professional interests include laser eye surgery co-management, children’s vision care and contact lens fitting.
Dr. Brokenshire enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons. In their leisure time, they enjoy curling, volleyball, music and world travel.
Dr. Daniel Toth graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 2022 on the Deans Honour List, after completing his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Guelph in 2018. He completed an ocular disease rotation in Grande Prairie, Alberta where he learned to manage and treat patients with a variety of unique conditions. Dr. Toth was born and raised in Toronto but moved to London after completing one of his clinical rotations in the area to pursue his career in private practice.
Dr. Toth is passionate about providing full scope optometry to his patients and will always try his best to make sure his patients’ needs are met. He is currently accepting new and returning patients of all ages.
In his spare time Dr. Toth enjoys spending time with family and friends, being active at the gym, playing a round of golf, and trying new recipes in the kitchen.
